Inclusive Practice refers to the educational philosophy and strategy ensuring that training and assessment are accessible to all individuals, regardless of gender, physical ability, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background. In a Competency-Based Training (CBT) framework, inclusivity rejects a “one-size-fits-all” approach, advocating instead for flexible delivery methods that accommodate diverse learning needs.
A key component of this is Reasonable Adjustment, where assessment methods are modified—such as providing a scribe for a learner with literacy difficulties—without lowering the required industry standard. By actively identifying and removing barriers, inclusive practice guarantees that every learner has an equitable opportunity to participate, demonstrate their competence, and succeed in the workforce.
