The assessment should be stopped when:
- there is any breach of safety
- equipment breaks down
- the trainee becomes stressed or requests that the assessment be stopped
- there is clear evidence of non-competency
- there is a chance of damage to property or equipment
- the assessment is having an effect on production (when conducted in a workplace).
