Role-play

Role-playing is an experiential learning method where learners act out scenarios to understand different perspectives or practice interpersonal skills. By stepping into a specific character or situation, the learner can “try out” an experience in a low-risk setting. Scenarios can be strictly defined by the instructor to target specific competencies—such as conflict resolution or customer service—or created by the learners themselves to reflect real challenges they face. This method is highly effective for building empathy and communication skills, as it forces participants to react in real-time to the emotional and behavioral cues of others.
